The Zorg are a reptilian warrior race from Beelmez IV, commonly employed by Mental as mercenaries for his armies.
Overview[]
Once, the Zorg has amassed a powerful interstellar empire through the conquest of many other worlds. However, they expanded their territories too far and found themselves with more planets under their control than they knew what to do with. Exhausted from their conquest and unbothered to decide what to do with their spoils of war, much of the Zorg population collectively decided to take a vacation from further warfare, temporarily retiring to a tropical planet within their home system to relax. After years of resting in the hot sun, the Zorg gradually lost their skin to excessive sunburn.
When Mental discovered the Zorg, they willingly joined his horde in return for payment, becoming mercenaries in his employ armed with laser weaponry. At Mental's decision, the few Zorg who still had some skin left were automatically promoted to positions of command.
At some point, the Zorg discovered a green ooze which they hoped could restore their lost skin. Instead, however, the ooze had a mutagenic effect on the Zorg, disfiguring their faces and turning them green. Nicknamed 'Orcs', these mutated Zorgs were separated from the unmutated population and relocated to Orazio, where they were employed by Mental once more and treated as a separate species.
