The Zebranky was a sapient species indigenous to Alpha Tucanae I. A vicious carnivore, they survived by preying on the other three sapient species on the planet: that is to say, the Zoq, the Fot, and the Pik. It was because of their mutual predation by the Zebranky that the other three species banded together into a perpetual union in order to cull this threat to their very existence. As the ultimate result of this union, the Zebranky were driven to extinction.
History[]
Around C. 3000 BCE the Zebranky were driven to extinction by the Zot-Fot-Pik. It remains unclear the exact year or century that they went extinct but it is clear that as of Star Control II: The Ur-quan Masters (2155- 2160) that the Zebranky had been extinct for over five thousand years. Despite the significant length of time since this event, they remain a factor in Zot-Fot-Pik culture. At times the "ZFP" will invoke Zebranky metaphors as a reference to dangerous and contemptible beings, such as the Ur-Quan Kohr-Ah during their attack against Alpha Tucanae I with the utilization of their Marauder starships. As of the events of Star Control II: Project 6014 (2165 -2169) the Zot-Fot-Pik homeworld is not located on the game map so further information about the Zebranky cannot be found in the second part of Star Control II by traveling to thier homeworld and none of the other races have any information about the Zebranky either. But Zot-Fot-Pik ships can still be built in this game. In fact Zot-Fot-Pik ships as well as Supox Blade ships can still be built in 2169 after the second Kohr-Ah death march kills off all the other space faring races in the local region.

- Some have speculated that the Zot-Fot-Pik Stinger may in fact be based upon the old physiology of the Zebranky, partially due to how the Zot-Fot-Pik talk so excitedly about them. Therefore the Zebranky are theorized to have been a Insectoid species, this seems to make sense considering that the other sapient species of this world were fungus (Zot), Octopus (Pik) and Plants (Fot) and none of these were Insects. Also considering the fact that the different Ur-Quan Species are a kind of Insectoid its reasonable to assume that when the Ur-Quans contacted them and then the Zot-Fot-Pik seen them on there communications screens they must have felt like the Ur-Quan and there Hierarchy are really just a more powerful kind of Zebranky. Its interesting to note that the Zebranky were defeated by the intelligent races of Alpha Tucanae I banding together and that the Ur-Quan Kzer-Za also needed to be defeated by many of the Intelligent races of the Local Galactic quadrant also banding together. from this perspective it would appear to the Zot-Fot-Pik that History ended up getting repeated by 2165 by the time the captain began voyages with the Chmmr Flagship.
