Alien Species

The Yills are a species of aliens operating under the Empire of Yill.

Biology[]

Yill are small grey-leathered skinned beings, standing at six feet tall.

History[]

The Corps Diplomatique Terra (CDT) having a claim of the Sirenian System that was contested by the Empire of Yill, dispatched their negotiator Ambassador Spradley along with his junior Jame Retief. Spradley arrogant his his certainty wanted to open negotiations by start by asking for the entire Sirenian System, before settling for half and then establishing a foothold on all the choicer worlds before making a wider claim. Such bold action was caution by Retief as it could upset the Yill, though the ambassador brushed his worries as he believed in the superiority of the CDT.

However it was apparent that the Yill had no intention of yielding to the humans' demands. They subtly showed their disrespectful human ambassador, who was blinded to his arrogance, by putting up a series of deliberate affronts towards the human delegation: herding them into a baggage warehouse, provided diplomatic transportation via a garbage truck, ushering them in a tradesmen's entrance, assigned them quarters and dining arrangements at the servant section. All such actions were ignored by Spradley due to his ignorance of Yill culture. Only Retief was not so blind to the symbolic disrespect, but managed to navigate through their protocols with discipline. When a Yill warrior made an open challenge to James, the diplomat managed to impress them Yill in the duel, who then believed that he was in charge of the Terrestrial delegation and thus proceeded to open talks and dismissing Spradley.

Culture[]

The Yill are known to possess some ceremonious protocols that were impressive, colorful—and, in the long run, deadly.

Among their protocols were that before guests were to take their seats, they were expected to crawl on their stomach to the seats as a homage to the gods.
