The Yagop was a creature native to the Ergulon Galaxy.
Biology[]
Yagops were fluffy white avian creatures, with faces that were seal-like, but possessing three eyes. They had a pair of wings and a long antenna appendage on their heads with a tuff of fluff. The Yagops were used by Cthonk a scientist who through his experiments discovered teleportation. Though the Yagops as a result of his tests were below satisfactory as they often came out mutated, Cthonk moved unto sentient trials and used alien children, which in turn left them horribly disfigured. His experiments caused the locals to form a mob and drive him out of their village, and become a wanted criminal by the Galactic Health Unit (GHU).
Cthonk fled his pursuers and vanished. Still he was regarded as the father of teleportation technology. The truth of the madman's experiments were buried by the GHU, who sugarcoated the man as St. Cthonk, the St. stands for scientist, and embellished his achievements to one of reverence. St. Cthonk's Day was created, which was a holiday, similar to Earth Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, and St. Patrick's Day, that was held in respect to Cthonk and his contribution to galactic society using teleportation throughout to travel to see their loved ones, or deliver gifts. Due to Cthonk's uncertain fate, revelers in the holiday, especially children, partake in activities of digging the ground to search for his corpse.
Yagops during this time are traditionally disfigured using teleporters and cooked like a holiday turkey. Attached with this dish, is an old holiday rhyme: "Choke on the bone, serve at its pleasure, glory you'll own, far beyond measure." According to superstition, if one chokes on a Yagop bone, its indicative of a good omen.
