The Worms are an unnamed species of extra-dimensional creatures that dwell in the space between universes.
Biology[]
The creatures are ethereal giant lampreys that swim through the space between universes. They emerge when a slide tunnel is formed connecting two universes. And function something akin to white blood cells, eliminating infections or anyone attempting to cross.
Despite being products of quantum energy, they are mortal and can be killed by conventional weapons.
