The Wolochs are a mysterious species of sapient stones native to the empty region of space beyond the galaxy, known as the Great Void. They are monumental creatures which look like building-sized obelisks and can travel through space at their own power. They are said to have no emotions and have waged war on all organic life in the galaxy, destroying several planets and allying themselves with all sorts of associates: from eldritch cosmic entities to sleazy criminals and politicians, some of which are not even aware that they have a role in the Wolochs' agenda. They were finally defeated using the device known as the Time Opener.
