The Water Tree was a plant native to the world of HTX 81635.
Biology
An asparagus-looking tree that produces round blue orbs called Shk-Chrg or "water berries". These Shk-Chrg are collected by the native Gyk as a single berry pod can produce thousands of gallons concentrated H2O. These plants are the reason why the planet is mostly desert despite regular rainfall patterns as the plants are very aggressive in terms of hydro consumption and retention. The soil of the planet is saturated with seeds of dormant water trees, where a single drop can cause tendrils to spontaneous burst and soak the water. The tendrils are equivalent to high density silicon alloy. Due to the danger of spilling water on their desert planet, the Gyk hold these plants to be sacred, that even cutting one down is seen as heresy.
