A Vorc is a peculiar alien species which has the natural ability to track down and eradicate a type of deadly parasites that are known to infect ships. To do that, the Vorc alternates between a tracking form and an attack form.

Biology[]

Tracking form[]

In its tracking form, the Vorc is a relatively small hairless biped with elongated arms, bony fingers and sharp teeth. Despite its short legs, it can move at very fast speed. It has a long thin neck and a proportionally large head. Its ears seem to move constantly while it tracks its potential prey. It also makes use of other senses, such as scent, and its eyes and nose appear to be likewise developed. A couple of short antennae on its head may also act as sensory organs of some sort.

While this species is not capable of speech, they often make high-pitched shrieking vocalizations, and are intelligent enough to understand others when injected with Translator Microbes, and communicate with species that are accustomed to non-verbal languages, such as Pilots.

Attack form[]

When the Vorc finds itself in the presence of the parasite that it was bred to hunt, it leaves its old skin behind and instantly molts into a much larger monstrous form, which is strong enough to easily overpower adversaries such as Luxans. It will revert to its tracking form after combat.
