Alien Species

Ventrilosquid's Species is an unnamed race of telepathic squid-like aliens.

Biology[]

Anatomy[]

This species resembles white squids with a big collection of purple hair, and tufts of white hair on the sides of their head. Their eight tentacles each have a mitten-like hand and a green eye with a black pupil. There are no visible eyes on their faces. They also have wide mouths with yellow teeth and a longer pointy tooth, as well as gills on each side of their torsos.

Powers and abilities[]

This species has ventriloquism powers, meaning they can make their voice appear to come from somewhere else. This typically occurs while a person or dummy moves their lips and imitates another being's voice.[1]

This species' ventriloquism can also work on inanimate objects.[1]

This species is "sort of" capable of telepathy,[2] at least enough to implant thoughts and words into another being's brain.[1]

This species does not need water to survive,[1] indicating that they are amphibious.

Weaknesses[]

Like other living beings, this species can be controlled by a Vladat's Corrupturas. However, the latter will not be able to control other beings using this species because that scenario is not an example of ventriloquism.[1]

This species' ventriloquism is not very effective on a Celestialsapien because they cannot move their mouths very easily. It is also ineffective on a species that does not have mouths, such as Atomix's Species.[1]

Culture and society[]

Politics are a nightmarish bewilderment among this species, as no one knows whose words are coming out of whose mouth.[1]

Notes[]

  • The Omnitrix's representative for this species is named Ventrilosquid.[2] However, it is unknown if his DNA is present in the Omnitrix as of Omniverse.
    • Ventrilosquid was a concept by Matt Mayne that was scrapped during production of Omniverse. Wayne calmed that Ventrilosquid "does not exist" before cutting himself off, believing he said too much.[2]
    • Derrick J. Wyatt once canonized Ventrilosquid into the original continuity, claiming that he was first used prior to the Omniverse episode "Let's Do the Time War Again". Years later, he admitted he was joking.[1]
  • This species' appearance is inspired by the Puppeteer from Barlowe's Guide to Extraterrestrials (originally from Larry Niven's Known Space series) and Sigmund from Sigmund and the Sea Monsters.[1]
  • After a certain point in the development of Omniverse, the network told the crew to stop adding more Omnitrix aliens, thinking that there were already too many featured in the show. Had he be given the opportunity, Wyatt would have incorporated Ventrilosquid into the show.[1]
  • It is confirmed that Synaptak is unrelated to this species.[1]
  • In 2020, Wyatt released a full-color model of Ventrilosquid's hypothetical appearance.
