The Vellakwans are a species from an unnamed galaxy.
Biology[]
The Vellakwans are a tall, lanky humanoid species, standing at least two meters tall. They possess light grey wrinkled skin. They have four fingers in each hand and two blue eyes on their bulbous craniums.
They have a skeletal structure, with a pressurized arterial network that feeds their internal organs and tissues, complete with two hearts that pump blood.
Vellakwans blood cells are able to adapt to different atmosphere, allowing it to breath oxygen or a mix of hydo-oxygen with with little difficulty using their respiratory systems.
Vellakwans are telepathic and communicate with their minds.
History[]
At some point in time, many Vellakwans were abducted and enslaved by an intelligence known as the Prime Entity. Using parasites to connect its thralls to its minds, the Prime Entity used them as foot soldiers in its search for a device called the Thanatok Matrix, a living machine capable of manipulating reality.
In the year 2117, on Europa One, NASA's first Jovian manned station discovered an alien obelisk. When it was disturbed it activated a beacon, alerting a Vellakwan scout ship to the planet. It attacked the research station, killing many of the staff.
During the attack, the Navigator of the vessel decided to attempt to break free from the control of its alien master, by gouging off the parasite from his neck. The human defenders managed to cause the scout ship to crash, leaving only the Navigator as the only survivor.
He was detained and put under study by the medical staff, who soon discovered that he was under the control of the alien parasite, After removing the parasite, the creature latched unto one of the nearby nurses, and through her declared that it would be coming, before security managed to kill the thing.
The Navigator now free asked for sanctuary and told the humans that their kind were all in danger. He explained that the Prime Entity was seeking the last components of the Thanatok Matrix, and that by uncovering the obelisk, which served as a perimeter beacon for a piece of the device and alerted the Prime Entity of its location. Earth was under threat by the Prime Entity who wanted the machine at all cost. In order to prevent the machine from falling into the hands of its enslaver, and to save humanity the Navigator offered to give them technological advancements that would advance them a thousand years into the future.
Five years after the Vellakwan arrived, the United Nations implemented a secret military directive to push their military capabilities further. With the aid of the Navigator known as Agostus, Alien Guest of the United States, they managed to arm a significant number of their armies.
When a second beacon was discovered in Guatemala, the beacon called forth more enthralled Vellakwans and alien soldiers of the Prime Entity to attack the archaeological site. They were repulsed by the human military armed with alien technology and science. However the victory was short-lived as an entire fleet of invaders attacked Earth. While the humans had a head start to develop their technology, there was not enough devices for their armies, leading to massive casualties and the destruction or many nations.
The surviving military forces managed to rally and lead a fight against the invaders that were using a portal transporting the Prime Entity's forces from a distant galaxy. The Prime Entity managed to capture the human resistance fleet and subdued them under it will using its parasites. It had acquired the core piece of the Thanatok Matrix and intended to use it to become a god. To power the device the Prime Entity began to drain the sun of the solar system. However unknown to it, the Thanatok Matrix had gained sentience and made contact with a human girl who warned it of what would happen should the Prime Entity's goal was achieved. Seeing that the Prime Entity was a threat and not worthy of its power, the Thanatok Matrix instead ascended into a god-like entity and used its newfound godhood to free the aliens and humans under the Prime Entity's control, and then imploded, taking it and the Prime Entity with it.
In the aftermath of the war, the Navigator's role in aiding humanity to defeat the Prime Entity was celebrated with several statues of him erected in the many surviving nations. The Navigator, having fulfilled his mission, decided to return to his world.
