Uxarieans are a sapient species from the planet Uxarieus, and once masters of an extraordinarily advanced civilization, creators of a doomsday device powerful enough to destroy a whole sun, which they never used.
By the 25th century, they had abandoned most of their technology and were referred to as "Primitives" by the Humans who colonized their world.
Biology[]
Uxarieans are telepathic and usually don't speak verbally. In the 25th century, three different phenotypes have been observed: baseline Uxarieans, Priests, and the Guardian.
Baseline members of this species are tall hairless bipeds with mottled green skin, tridactyl hands and tall heads.
Priests, in turn, are short-statured, with pale yellowish skin, deep folds on their heads and sunken eyes which are nearly blind. They are the product of genetic engineering intended to create a "super race", but as their science degenerated and was replaced by religion, they became priests who worshiped their ancestors' machines.
The pinnacle of the Uxarieans' genetic engineering experiments, the Guardian, is even smaller than the Priests, with a grossly oversized head and atrophied limbs, and is the only member of the species capable of communicating verbally.
