The Alien captain makes a fateful decision.
Sometime following the destruction of the planet Krypton a vessel discovered a mechanical construct of unknown origin. The captain of the vessel ordered that it be brought aboard and shortly after it was its outer casing was destroyed as mechanical tentacles emerged and proceeded to kill the crew before taking over the ship. The crew had brought aboard their vessel the Kryptonian supercomputer, Brainiac. [1] Brainiac then proceeded to travel to the alien home world from which he gathered all knowledge from it and then destroyed it. [2] As a result the species is presumed extinct, though their possession of interstellar craft indicates that they may of had colonies on other worlds it is likely Brainiac would have learned of those and visited them to inflict the same doom.
