History[]

In the mid-21st century, a religious war broke out among the fanatical religious Triannons over the trivial debate on the number of days of creation of the "Chosen Realm".

The war ended in 2153 with Triannon being laid to waste and both sides were decimated. The only survivors were groups and pilgrims that were off planet, unaware of the devastation of the world and still fighting their religious cause. Among the survivors were Pri'Nam D'Jamat who led his group of believers on a pilgrimage to one of the spheres. During his travels he caught wind of Captain Archer and the Enterprise were studying the spheres and even landing on them. The actions in his mind caused them to see the explorers as heretics and thus he and his followers hijacked Enterprise with the intent to use the starship to end his people's war.

Upon discovering all their data they had on the spheres the zealot wiped them from the databanks and then sentence Archer to death. However the Enterprise crew successfully retook the ship back and returned D'Jamat and his remaining followers to their homeworld. The zealots were showed what their faith had reduced their world to rumble.

Culture[]

The Triannons were fanatical believers to their faith, and believed that the spheres of the Delphic Expanse by gods or the "Makers" and the "Chosen Realm". The spheres which caused spatial anomalies were believed by the primitive species to be reshaping space to create a paradise. In their beliefs, the Triannons claimed there were thousands of spheres, though in reality were only 78.

The spheres were venerated, which the Triannons showed through prayer and meditation, but landing on the satellite's threshold was considered desecration punishable by death. Though their technology at the 22nd century was inferior, Triannons took pilgrimages to see them.

There were factions among the Triannons, one faction believed that the Chosen Realm was created in nine days whilst another believed it was created in ten days

Their reverence for the spheres could be categorized as fundamentalist. When faced with facts that contradict their established beliefs Triannons would vehemently reject the notions and destroy all traces of what they perceived as heresy.
