Changes: The Iron Giant's species

This rare of robotic humanoids are 50-foot behemoths that eat any thing metal which they use for fuel. Very little is known about them or where they come from except that they may be war mechs and are programmed to destroy everything in their path. They also can self-repair themselves if ever damage and have rockets within their feet which allows them the ability to fly.

As of the Signature edition to the movie. In a new scene, it was revealed that the Iron Giant has a dream where he's shown marching with other metal giants like him throughout what remains of some city of an unknown planet, that they had presumably invaded and destroyed.
It is possible that these bots don't really have genders of any kind.
