Terrorcons are a subspecies of monstrous reptilian Cybertronians from the planet Cybertron.

Biology[]

While also being a subgroup of Decepticons, Terrorcons consider themselves a species unto themselves.

Anatomy[]

Terrorcons share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform into monstrous robotic reptiles.

Powers and abilities[]

Terrorcons share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.

Select Terrorcons can combine to form a combiner known as Abominus. Alternatively, Terrorcons can combine with other Cybertronians to form combiners such as Abomenaticus, Scramble 7, and the Decepticon Super Scramble.

Weaknesses[]

Unlike other Cybertronians, Terrorcons possess lower intelligence and high psychological problems as a side-effect of their creation.

Culture and society[]

It is hard to take the Terrorcons seriously as they have a bunch of personality problems and a lack of decency. In short, they are all positively insane, even by Decepticons standards. Nevertheless, they are generally considered to be the mortal enemies of the Technobots.

Individually, Terrorcons are not much of a problem when taken on one-on-one and can easily be outsmarted. But when they are together as a group, they become very dangerous for bunch of reasons that range between following orders, fighting for sport, attempting to alleviate boredom, and even because they are performing a dare.

Terrorcons are not what one could call soldiers, warriors, or even brawlers. Rather, they are animals who bring that thought pattern to everything they do, including their choice of monstrous robotic reptiles for alternate modes.

Terrorcons are not known for being particularly loyal, as they would occasionally ditch the Decepticon cause in favor of working alongside the Quintessons. They are also regarded as the ultimate model of Terrorbots.

History[]

The Terrorcons were created by the Quintessons to exploit the power of Angolmois Energy. However, they would not achieve the same intelligence as other Cybertronians due to being created without the aid of Vector Sigma.

Alternate history[]

The Terrorcons are alternatively portrayed as being clones based on ancient CNA created by Shockwave. As such, their low intelligence was attributed to an error in the cloning process.

Notes[]

  • Unlike many other Cybertronian subspecies, the Terrorcons never really had an origin story in any Generation 1-inspired media. The "Unleash the Beasts" story event in Transformers Legends essentially transplants the origins of the Predacons from the "Aligned" continuity family onto the group, likely because several of those Predacons are based on the Generation 1 Terrorcons.
    • The Transformers Legends comic "The Road to Legends' Revival Chapter 3" would eventually state that for the Japanese Generation 1 cartoon continuity, the Terrorcons were created by the Quintessons much like the Generation 1 Predacons, thereby canonizing a longstanding fan interpolation.
  • The spelling of Hun-Gurrr's name has varied a lot, as the original spelling appears on all of his toys' packaging and instructions, in the 1987 toy catalog, and the European release of the Generation 1 toy available in bilingual French/Dutch packaging.
    • Conversely, Hun-Gurrr's name has been spelled as Hun-Grrr without the "u" in the American Generation 1 toy's tech specs, the American 1988 toy catalog, Blot's The Transformers Universe profile, Dreamwave's More than Meets the Eye entry for the character, Devil's Due Press fiction, and IDW publications like Spotlight: Sixshot and The Ark.
    • Alternatively, his name is spelled as Hun-Gar (with the "u" being replaced with an "a" and two of the "r"s removed) in More than Meets the Eye #12 and Monstrosity; Hun-Grr (without the "u" and with only "r" removed) in the Marvel Comics and Generation 1 cartoon series scripts; and Hun-Garr (with the "u" being replaced with an "a" and only one "r" removed) on part 3 of the UK reprint of "Brothers in Armor!!".
  • Although Cindersaur is traditionally portrayed as a Firecon, his Power of the Primes incarnation was referred to as a Terrorcon by Hasbro Toy Shop.
