Tankinar are an aggressive alien species that when roused every eight to nine generations display their aggression outwards. Various starfaring civilizations live in fear of them but several civilizations have on occasion joined forces to drive the Tankinar back.

Biology[]

It was mentioned that they are a horned species. So far their biology is unknown but one was kill a Gwindol warrior with ease. Later it is revealed that the Tankinar were a manufactured species by makers unknown. They are a tech form that can lie dormant for thousands of years and reactivate for no reason. Even the smallest piece of them can allow them to rebuild. They are a weapon so lethal and deadly that they dominate the host they bond with. An analogous comparison for the Tankinar would be a gun taking over its user.

No species is said to be able to survive bonding and retained control with a Tankinar. With every new species that is bonded, it creates a new type of Tankinar added to theater of war. Victims of these bondings are very much conscious though unable to assert any control and are helpless to watch the atrocities committed. Not only that Tankinar operate within a collective hive mind for efficient killings of a world.

Tankinar war bodies are said to only move in straight lines, and non-linear movement is regarded as abnormal.

Background[]

The origins of the Tankinar are a mystery to galactic civilizations. The only meaningful contact with the species happened every few generations in which the species would just suddenly appear and takes arms and paint the local area of space with blood. Despite the repeated counter offenses by the local civilizations there is no information of who even made the Tankinar. Due to the war and destruction they wrought, the Tankinar are greatly feared.

Cyd Finlea, a human influencer who had ventured out into the galaxy in search for clues on her missing daughter, who she suspected was kidnapped by aliens, managed to make her way into the far reaches of deep space, unable to find her way back to Earth. Cyd found herself in a sector of space being threatened by the Tankinar, after she managed to procure a job at a bar. Among the refugees, Cyd volunteered to assist in medical front to help injured soldiers. However her medical station was attacked by the Tankinar, resulting in her death.

Through the advanced medical science of a species known as the Zoto, Cyd was brought back to life. After having an identity crisis, the woman decided to resume her mission in seeking out other humans to return to Earth. Unfortunately like before, the Tankinar were attacking civilized space and Cyd found herself in a war zone. In an effort to escape being killed, Cyd hid in her spatial sentient bag, Boti, however it eventually spat her out due to sensing something had infected her.

Out in the open, Cyd came face to face with the Tankinar, and soon found herself changed into a war body, joining the aliens in massacring the populace of the world she was on. However through some sheer will, Cyd managed to wrest control of her body, and use her new form to destroy the other Tankinar war machines, before reverting herself back to normal. Cyd was then taken into custody by the Unanima who began to review her body and memories to determine how the human was infected with Tankinar technology and managed to retain her mind.
