If need be. I can, and am willing to reread all 2.04 gb of comics (omg ill so send these to you guys if you want.....) and every novel I own so I can share what my own insights/opinions and citationable facts are. I would rather colaberate with the authors of this page then simply delete and or edit your entire work. obviously....... from the length of this page....... either some thought and time were put into this page or someone was on a binge and went on a rant. Serously this page is one ugly mather fucker, if you get my drift.

How much of this article is canon and how much is fanfiction? -76.95.140.223 10:28, February 6, 2010 (UTC)

I'm not a huge fan of AVP but I would say all of it is canon--Owen1983 11:21, February 6, 2010 (UTC)
Well I ask because there is a great deal of information on their reproduction, as well as an image, that appears to be fanart, supposedly denoting the Yautja evolution, and I've not seen this information elsewhere, even on websites completely devoted to Predator. If anything, I think it may warrant further investigation. (Turns out I have an account already, I'd just forgotten!) -HamatoKameko 07:47, February 9, 2010 (UTC)
I also have my suspicions about most of what's here. Speculation can be fun but it doesn't belong in an encyclopedia, especially not when it's being passed off as fact. I believe that the Wikipedia article would be a very good starting point to bring in content that has actual references. Ghosthande 22:01, May 14, 2010 (UTC)

Hey[]

The part about the Blood i added if you can prove it wrong go ahead and change it but im pretty sure its right.

Moving from article[]

Im just moving something i found right in the middle of the Yautja article.

ravager134k-if they cant survive cold temperatures how come the three hunters survived in antartica?

Answer: They have thermal suits, some of which are merely thermal versions of the net suit they are seen wearing under their armor.

female Yautja[]

i've been wanting to post this pic cuz is by far the closest i've seen to what a female Yautja looks like, and it looks legit. i hope its ok if i put it on the article so you can have an idea of what a female Yautja looks like,if you dont like it fell free to take it out.i also have a picture of the Yautja language if you want me to post it let me know --Atika 10:49, June 8, 2010 (utc)

That female is U.G.L.Y. She makes Ellen Ripley from Alien 3 look attractive! By the way, I am NOT saying that Sigourney Weaver is ugly. Anyways, I wouldn't think that females would wear dreadlocks. I feel that they are a male thing. Anyways, it looks like it should stay......for now......Lucario of the Gods (talk 20:22, June 8, 2010 (UTC)
I think the dreadlocks are more of an anatomical trait than just a hairdo, so that all Yautjas have it. You're totally right about the ugly thing, though... And yes, an image of the Yautja's written language would be great! :) BlueFrackle 21:27, June 8, 2010 (UTC)

Here's what AVP comics writer and editor Randy Stradley had to say about the depiction of Predator females in the Perry novels:

"There were two things I would have insisted on changing, if I’d been allowed to read the manuscript. One, I would never have allowed the readers “inside” the Predator’s mind. I think that demystifies the characters too much. The second — a sequence that occurs during one of the passages where we’re privy to the Predator’s thoughts — is where the Predator realizes that Machicko is a female because she has breasts . . . just like female Predators. Except Dark Horse’s own writers’ guidelines for how to present the Predators states something along the lines of, “Determining the gender of a Predator is nearly impossible for a human to do. They’re like tigers — by the time you get close enough to determine whether a particular Predator is a male or female, you’re dead.”If the editor had provided Steve and Stephani with our in-house guides, or if she had taken the time to read them herself, probably both those bits would have been changed." Alien Species Wiki's lack of references[]

This is an insanely ambitious wiki with amazing potential, but the Yautja article, indeed nearly all of the articles on Alien Species Wiki suffer greatly from their lack of references. For the love of all aliens, list your sources, people! (For one thing, it would clear up a lot of confusion as to what is and isn't 'fanon'.) Can't ASW's admins do something to encourage this? As to the Yautja article in particular, most of this is fanon and could be shared either in blogs or at the Alien Fanon Wiki. Thanks everybody-----CadmiumX99 04:21, June 9, 2010 (UTC)

New Yautja Type (Predators Movie)[]

As seen in the new movie, There is a new type of Yautja, They are said to hunt other predators, like a "Blood Feud" or something, Any information, if Sketchy, is reccomended 67.193.251.215 13:19, July 18, 2010 (UTC)C41Xeadra

Blood[]

Your section about the blood is off; human blood is just as resilient as predator blood due to buffers in the blood which keep Ph balance in check. If the alkalinity of predator blood was the sole reason to their resilience to xenomorph blood, then the predator's blood would be just as damaging to humans as xenomorph blood. The reason that predators take less damage from xenomorph blood is because of their durable skin.

P.S. You need to take an anatomy class because your whole article is a contradiction

This article is fanfic[]

Look, not to be a wet blanket, but this entire article seems to be fanfic. Few citations (and I suspect that any provides would point to the comic books), lot's of speculation, and even the title ("Yautja") is suspect. I am a huge fan of the movies... and nowhere was there an analysis of the Predator genome.

To be sure, the movies were "Predator", "Predator 2", and "Predators". Not "Yautja", not "Hish", none of that.

"Alien vs Predator", "Alien vs Predator: Requiem"... while fun movies they are considered offshoots, not canon, and both the Alien and Predator franchises disavow them. Even the Predator francise folks state that the Alien skull at the end of Predators 2 was just an extra prop and now they dreadfully regret having it. I won't even start about the comic books which are certainly fanfic. After all if they are canon why are there no Terminators in the Alien or Predator universe? Remember Aliens vs Terminator vs Predator or whatever the hell that was?

That said, I think that the comics are fun as well.

Perhaps there should be two Predator topics since there are (at least) 2 Predator universes.

198.119.56.43 12:55, April 9, 2012 (UTC)Geoffrey

Your concerns are justified, but there's a difference between fanfic and non-canon. We didn't just invent these things; although they're not official, they come from sources that have been published and that's enough for ASW's policy. Non-canon is allowed here. That said, if you wish to split the article in two different topics, I would not oppose that - BlueFrackle 13:15, April 9, 2012 (UTC)

Overhaul Needed[]

Okay this page needs a major overhaul, forget people complaining about canon. There are canon lines, but they do not matter here . . . As long as it is an officially licensed, published, and approved work of the copyright holders its information will be here . . . conflicting information will be noted.

But the problem is, that the information from officially licensed, published, and distributed sources has bled together with fanon. Most of this information on circulatory systems and anatomy seems to be utter non-sense and garbage. The yautja evolution, and female yautja are completely fanonical (I can show you several female yautja from the comics if you like)

I recommend a full-overall, and page protection. I am not saying that each piece of information needs to be sourced on the page . . . but at least in the description of the edit . . . ralok (talk) 06:17, February 20, 2013 (UTC)

I need approval[]

I have uploaded my WIP remake of the page, but I seek permission to protect this page for administrators only as it seems to be a target for fanon, note I also request this protection for the xenomorph page which will eventually be remade in a similiar fashion . . . ralok (talk) 03:00, February 22, 2013 (UTC)

Hello  to everyone :

I always a bt curious about yautja and I watched all movies and many comic books about it.

However; about the females I'm gonna say there's almost any Clear information given thus leading everyone to belief their own; However again Not general but most 'known' belief ' is the females larger stronger and more powerfull than males and ruled over males; as 'Refferred' in AVP: Prey writed by Steve/Stephanie Perry; and not even seen females in it....

BUT in the (I read it either) Alien vs Predator : Deadliest of the species; Females show only a little difference from males even not more powerfull and this condratic the AVP Prey much...

And both of these books are Canon; I decide Females're Different in every clan and subspecies. And maybe this is the only right answer I got.

Plase answer (If you want) can every clans females're different or not ?

I am not sure what you were trying to say with your edit, but the females in Aliens vs. Predator: Deadliest of the Species are visually indistinguishable from male members of the species.... and as far as I can remember there is only one. She lacks all external gender characteristics that human females possess. As well with the individual sections you arent exactly supposed to refer to previous sections, you are just supposed to have all the information from a particular source. ralok (talk) 21:25, December 13, 2013 (UTC)

There is an error on this page but it won't let me edit i

Question[]

Im just wondering. Arent superpredators a different sub species, not just clan? So shouldn't they get their own page?
