here is a thought on reproduction, in a good deal of AVP media it is said that normal aliens are able to undergo metamorphosis into queens. It is my thought that the dominant alien in a hive would be the alien to undergo this transformation . . . which would naturally be the predalien, given its innate physical superiority to human-based xeno's ralok 13:34, May 25, 2012 (UTC)
The predalien, as such, may not be canon. But, as far as I know, there is no other canon explanation why the "runner" caste in Alien3 had traits attributed to being burst from a canine. In that sense, it is canon that a predalien would be much different from a "normal" one. Humans and dogs have much more similar physiology than a human and a predator even though they are both bipedal as a product of convergent evolution (or maybe the engineers).
I also think it worth pointing out that in Alien3, it was clear that the embryo inside Ripley was a queen already from embryo stage. It doesn't exactly contradict the idea that a queen may have different ways of ascending, nor does it explain how the process is decided. The idea that a normal adult xeno would continue the reproduction cycle was originally a part of the original Alien movie, but was scrubbed. 220.127.116.11 06:51, June 10, 2017 (UTC)
The article states that it was unclear which of the two things that motivated the predator in hunting Chet.
- Considering Chet a threat.
- Considering Chet an abomination.
There is a third option: Considering Chet a good hunt and worthwhile trophy.
