This unnamed beetle-like insectoid species are a hostile lifeform that inhabits T'Kani Prime, a planet 4.2 million light years from Earth.
Biology[]
These creatures are large, non-sapient beetle-like insectoids, with spiked armored exoskeletons, four wings, four red eyes, sharp mandibles, and eight legs, with their front two legs being bulkier and covered in heavier armor. They are large and strong enough to lift up adult Humans in Space Ranger armor, being somewhat larger than a Human torso. They live in swarms, and reside within large, dark areas, such as caves and warehouse, and are incredibly aggressive towards Humans. However, they only attack what they can see, ignoring invisible Humans even while getting shoved aside. When resting within their caves, they are encased in fleshy cocoons. Internally, these creatures possess green blood. While armored, they are still vulnerable to Space Ranger weaponry and sufficiently high voltage.
History[]
At some point in the far future, a Star Command ship, of the Earth-based Galactic Alliance, landed on T'Kani Prime to investigate its potential to be habitable. Three Space Rangers, Captain Buzz Lightyear, Commander Alisha Hawthorne, and recruit Featheringhamstan, exited the ship to look around the planet, although Buzz disapproved of Featheringhamstan's presence. While Buzz was distracted arguing with Alisha, Featheringhamstan was taken by a moving vine, and the other two Humans were promptly attacked by a swarm of T'Kani Prime insectoid creatures. The two Space Rangers shot and slashed their way through the swarm, running back to the ship, which was being pulled down by larger vines, but Buzz was forced to turn back for Featheringhamstan, who was soon grabbed by both a vine and insect creature, the latter of which lifted him into the air. Buzz managed to destroy both the vine and insect and rescue Featheringhamstan, attempting to get the ship back into space, but the vines caused the launch trajectory to be botched, resulting in the ship crashing.
Now marooned, the Humans aboard established a colony on T'Kani Prime, as its atmosphere was habitable to Humans, but insectoid creatures continued to attack them. To defend themselves against the insects, the Humans erected electrified fences which could easily kill the creatures, and later a laser shield that served as an ever better defense. After 62 years of repeatedly testing hyperspace crystals, culminating in a 22 year test of a finally stable crystal, T'Kani Prime was invaded by a mysterious entity known as Zurg and his Zyclops soldiers. Buzz, who was kept young due to being the pilot during the tests and subjected to time dilation, returned to the planet from the final test a week into the invasion, and joined by three other Human survivors, attempted to retrieve a military spacecraft from an abandoned warehouse.
However, the insectoids had taken refuge in the warehouse during the time of the invasion, and were asleep in their cocoons when Buzz and company arrived. One of the Humans, clumsy Junior ZAP Patrol recruit Mo Morrison, accidentally activated the alarm of a truck they used to get to the warehouse, waking up all the insectoids, although the Humans managed to secure themselves inside of a room housing Space Ranger suits. The group all used the suits to get past the insectoids by activating the stealth function, but while Buzz was able to reach the military craft, the others, who he had ordered to get to safety, were unable to get out before their stealth wore off, allowing the insectoids to see them. The insectoids attacked, but Mo activated his suit's "surrender" feature, activating many airbags that allowed the group to roll him over the insects and get into Buzz' ship. Many insectoids tried to cling onto the ship and break in, but were all thrown off as it took off into the upper atmosphere.
The remains of insectoids run over by Mo or thrown off the ship were later found by a damaged Zyclops that had been hunting Buzz, but no more insects attacked, the rest presumably going back to their cocoons. Some time later, after the destruction of Zurg's ship and his Zyclops, at least one insectoid creature tried to breach the colony's laser shield, but was instead incinerated against it.

Notes[]
- Due to T'Kani Prime being said to be 4.2 million light years from Earth, it is possible it is located in either the Andromeda XVIII or Antlia Dwarf galaxies.
