Supersoldiers (also known as "Perfect Decepticons") are a subspecies of genetically modified Cybertronian Soldiers from the planet Cybertron.
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
Supersoldiers share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform into Cybertronian tanks and have heads resembling the insignia for the Decepticon faction.
Powers and abilities[]
Supersoldiers share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.
Supersoldiers are sturdier than most other Cybertronians and possess built-in teleportation technology.
Weaknesses[]
Supersoldiers share many of the same weaknesses as other Cybertronians.
Supersoldiers can only be sufficiently defeated using multiversal energy.
Like ordinary Cybertronians, Supersoldiers are vulnerable to having their Energon fed on by subterranian Monsterbots.
Culture and society[]
Supersoldiers are a race of custom designed Cybertronians created via Vector Sigma and the AllSpark while under the control of the Decepticons and produced by the hundreds. Described as a race of "perfect Decepticon", these Cybertronian shock trooper are unflinching, unquestioning, and almost animalistic.
Supersoldiers originally live only to serve their master, an alternate version of Decepticon leader Megatron known as Megatron X. As such, they were initially programmed with no desires of their own. However, Tarn was somehow able to gain sentience on his own during the fallout of Megatron X's death.
During a climactic final battle against the Cybertronians of an alternate timeline, Soundwave would enhance the other supersoldiers' sentience using the Cortex Helm.
History[]
During the Great War, the Cybertronian supercomputer Vector Sigma was seized by the Decepticons with Shockwave being tasked with hacking through its security. When Bumblebee was caught spying on the scientist, he was brought to Megatron revealed that he intended to have the Allspark produce him a new Decepticon race.
Some 66 million years later, Starscream had stolen the AllSpark from the Autobots, who were unaware of the Seeker's defection from the Decepticons. Fearing that Megatron would create his dream warriors, they launched an assault on the Nemesis in the hopes of seizing the artifact.
After the Ark had been destroyed by a laser snare, Megatron planned to fish the Allspark out of the wreckage and create his warriors only for it to be revealed that the Autobots had abandoned ship before the attack. Between the AllSpark being returned to its rightful place by Bumblebee and Vector Sigma being destroyed by Wheeljack using unspace matter, any chance of Megatron creating his perfect soldiers was thoroughly prevented.
However, there existed an alternate timeline in which Megatron's counterpart killed Optimus Prime in the early stages of the war and claimed the Matrix of Leadership for himself. Once all Autobot resistance had been wiped away, Megatron X created his perfect race of warriors and dispatched them to eliminate any "unnecessary" Decepticons until only a handful remained, including Astrotrain and the Insecticons.
When the primary Megatron broke into Megatron X's timeline and stole his Matrix, Megatron X dispatched his supersoldiers to his counterpart's reality as an advance guard. Proving more than a match for the native Autobots and Decepticons, they were defeated only by multiversal energy provided by Optimus and Megatron. A second wave was sent soon afterward but they were unceremoniously blasted into unspace by the native Megatron before Megatron X teleported in and reclaimed his Matrix. Before he could re-insert it into himself, the talisman was plucked by Bumblebee who flew off. Several supersoldiers teleported in to try and retrieve the artifact only to be tackled down by the native Cybertronians.
Following Megatron X's demise, the supersoldiers took revenge on his captor Astrotrain before infighting broke out among them due to their programmed need for dominance in the absence of a leader. One of them that was involved in the execution of Megatron X's Soundwave had somehow developed a sense of individuality, naming himself Tarn. Heavily damaged to the point where his left arm was severed, Tarn lured his battling brethren to the main reality in order to convince the local Autobots and Decepticons to help his kin.
After several failed attempts in defusing the supersoldiers' infighting, Tarn suggested using an ancient relic known as the Cortex Helm. With the Animatronian knight Thunderhowl as their guide to the Isle of Onyx Prime, Tarn's plan succeeded and he used Helm to alter the other supersoldiers' programming. Having overwritten their desire for dominance with loyal towards him, Tarn commanded the supersoldiers to enforce his rule by hunting down any Autobots.
Teleporting himself and a captured Optimus an abandoned arena elsewhere on Cybertron, Tarn pitted the Autobot leader in a brutal deathsport against increasing numbers of supersoldiers. However, Optimus was rescued by the Autobots, who had managed to replicate the supersoldiers' teleportation ability. Though Tarn summoned the native Decepticons, they ultimate choose to remain allied with the Autobots thanks to motivational words by Shadow Striker. With that, Tarn ordered the supersoldiers to battle the united Autobot-Decepticon army.
Though the supersoldiers gained the upper hand, the battle was ultimately brought to an end when Soundwave recovered the Helm and used it to reprogram the supersoldiers before unleashing a sonic supernova that destroyed himself, Tarn, and the Helm. Thanks to Soundwave's final actions, the remaining supersoldiers discovered they had become sentient were being given free will, leading them to stand down and discard their weapons. Sometime later, several sentient supersoldiers were seen at Soundwave's wake, joining in a toast to his memory.

- The supersoldiers are modeled after Tarn's original counterpart from the Transformers comics released by IDW Publishing. Tarn himself utilizes a modified version of this design featuring battle damage and a severed left arm.
