Sunevians are a cannibalistic humanoid species from Sunev, which is Venus spelled backwards.

Biology[]

Sunevians appear externally indiscernable from Humans, although slightly taller.

Culture and society[]

Sunevians have a primitive society, although they appear able to work with metal. Clothing worn by Sunevian females is known to consist of short dress-like garments made from animal pelts, sometimes bearing necklaces of what appears to be animal teeth. Most notably, they are cannibals, and also readily eat members of other species who land on their planet, such as Humans. Females have been seen living, or at least hunting, in groups of three, with no males in sight. Sunevian skulls are often seen in Sunevian campsites. When preparing to eat victims, Sunevians are known to tickle the feet of the victims, presumably to exhaust them beyond the point of being able to fight back, before putting on sharp teeth and claws to tear the victim apart. Also, when greeting members of other species, Sunevian females are known to first bite them, then kiss them. The Sunevian language consists of sounds such as "ay ay ay ay." Sunevians are known to be afraid of large lizard-like creatures native to Sunev, running at the sight of one.

Technology[]

Being primitive, Sunevians mostly use wood and simple rope, atlhough they have been seen using metal cooking pots.

History[]

In the mid-20th century, five Humans, consisting of Professor A.K. Rimple, Rimple's daughter, and Moe, Larry, and Joe, known as the Three Stooges, landed on Sunev, where the Stooges were seen exiting their ship by a female Sunevian. Figuring that the Stooges would be good food, the Sunevian told two other Sunevians of them, and they met the Stooges, first biting them when the Stooges went in for a kiss, then giving a proper kiss back to the Stooges. They then dragged the Stooges by the neck to their campsite, where they proceeded to bind the Stooges to poles and tickle their bare feet to exhaustion. Every now and then, they appear to look up at their victims with delight as they watch the men laugh uncontrollably. Once the Stooges were thoroughly exhausted, the Sunevians put claws on their nails and fang-like dentures in their mouths, and went to eat the Stooges, but were scared off by a Sunevian lizard, allowing the Stooges to recover and escape. Later, after somehow getting back to Earth despite nearly crashing their ship, the Stooges recounted their story to the Liars Club, who gave them an award for being the world's biggest liars.

Appearances[]

  • Space Ship Sappy (1957)

Notes[]

  • The name of this species is conjecture, based on the name of their planet.
  • A species from a world of the same name was featured in the episode Outer Space Jitters, although this species appears to be unrelated.
  • Due to the ending of the episode, it is possible that the Sunevians in this episode are entirely fictional in-universe, but this is unconfirmed.
