A Squeept was a hyperthermophilic arthropoid that was indigenous to certain areas of Zebes. They often could be found hiding within lava, jumping out using their mandible-like legs before diving back under. It is unknown why they did this, although one could assume that, like many other Zebesian life, they were territorial.
As with all other species native to Zebes, it became extinct in the wild when Samus Aran finally destroyed the evil Mother Brain. They weren't seen on the Bottle Ship or the Biologic Space Laboratories research station, though the Vorash somewhat resemble large Squeepts.
