Spaghetti People is a tentative name for a humanoid species native to the planet 41-Kepler B.
Biology[]
Spaghetti People outwardly have no physical difference to humans. Internally though the matter is another story. When the species commits suicide, the cortisol in their bodies increases the starch content in their bloodstream, turning their intestines into spaghetti noodles and the surrounding tissues into bolognese.
This can only be achieved by self-inflicted suicide as any other forms of death, such mutual murder-suicide leave the organs unchanged. The spaghetti made from the internal tissue
The taste of the noodles from this species seems to be way more delicious than Earth’s spaghetti, and hailed “the best spaghetti in the galaxy”.
History[]
Rick Sanchez introduced spaghetti made from this species. The family found it to be so enjoyable that it became the dinner dish for every fourth day of the week creating Spaghetti Thursdays. However when Rick was getting a second batch to feed the family, Morty walked in and discovered the horrible truth when Rick was digging noodles out of a corpse.
Morty found the whole situation morally reprehensible, immediately had Rock take him to 41-Kepler B to see the source for himself. At his insistence he wanted to go to the funeral of the man who was their dinner. Against Rick's warnings, Morty confesses attendees at a funeral that his family at their people. Back on Earth he also tolds his family, though they are more disappointed at the loss of their spaghetti nights than the fact they were eating people, calling Morty out for ruining their delectable bliss.
Morty is later contacted by the president of 41-Kepler B after hearing about the funeral confession. She offers Morty "ethically-sourced" spaghetti, from a sickly person who accepted death and their fate as food, would be provided assisted suicide. The situation become more palatable to Morty and Spaghetti Thursdays returns.
However Rick reveals the species now focused on making spaghetti into a full industry, encouraging suicide and the decline of mental of society to keep up with demand and sell cans of "MortyO's Suicide Spaghetti" across the galaxy.
Morty horrified what he has done, asks Rick for help, by first creating sentient clines programmed to kill themselves, but fails as the clone revert to drastic measures to avoid becoming food. Another attempt is a less-sentient creature that has poor results, until finally he comes up with a lifeform that is composed of a torso and a arm that stabs itself to death.
Spaghetti production returns until a group of alien consumers attack the planet claiming it tastes terrible and demand real spaghetti. Just as they invade the planet, a group of planet inhabitants advocating for "torso right" attack causing mass chaos. Other aliens arrive demanding more spaghetti and try to force people to kill themselves.
Rick offers one last solution and uses the last Spaghetti Person willing to die by suicide and broadcast his memories to the world and aliens causes no one to desire the taste for spaghetti.
