Spade-headed Smookas are small, non-sapient arboreal creatures indigenous to the swamp planet of Dagobah. With long forelimbs and a thin, prehensile tail, the Smooka is perfectly adapted to live in the tree-like floral organisms of its homeworld. The flaps on their arms allow them to glide through the forest canopy. They use their rodent-like incisor teeth to chisel holes in the trees, where they nest.

Spade-headed Smookas are omnivores. Their diet includes cyanoberries and other small fruits, nuts, seeds, Bogwing eggs and nestlings, young Leaf-tails and other small organisms.
