The Soul Pirates are an affiliation of rogue, hostile humanoids, mostly if not exclusively from the planet Ryger. They are tall, vigorous and imposing beings which have the ability to extend their lifespan to hundreds of years by transplanting tissue from other races. They operate by attacking non-spacefaring planets, abducting children (and any nearby adults) with an orange beam loaded with a soporific agent which ensured that the victims would be in a dream-like state of mind. The abductees would then be either hooked to "brain-drain helmets", or have their organs harvested. The pirates do not appear to be particularly intelligent, but are masters of advanced technology which allows their ships to avoid detection. Their motto is "We Never Land".
