Solas, also known as Saurous, is a gigantic saurian-like kaiju that appears within the Earth Defense Force franchise. It has been reported attacking mankind alongside the Ravagers for a number of years until the end of 2019. Since no more reports follow of it since that year, it is concluded that it is no longer alive.
Solas holds a striking resemblance to the similar giant kaiju Godzilla: a forty meter tall tyrannosaur-like monster with a rhino-like horn off its snout, and rocky protrusions jutting from its back. It is a very strong and durable creature, capable of releasing a deadly firebreath onto its opponents.
A cybernetic version of Solas has also been observed, which possibly could be a biomechanical creature the Ravagers had created with Solas in mind.
