Snuffles are hovering, non-sapient organisms which have developed a defense mechanism that is amongst the best in the galaxy - they produce an oozing mucus so rancid that they have no natural predators. In fact, the mucus is so gross that most of the civilizations around the galaxy have outlawed them because people tend to never eat again upon smelling these so-called abominations.
Nevertheless, the Snuffles are in fact The Maw's favorite food, and he treasures eating the grotesque creatures above all else, almost swooning as he devours them.
