Shifters share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.
Chameleonoid even by their race's traditional standards, Shifters possess super-transformational abilities of infinite-transformation that allows them to take the art of transformation to a whole new level. Technically speaking, they take the form of anything they know, can see, or sample that is comparable to their normal size and mass.
Culture and society[]
Shifters share a similar culture to other Cybertronians, though they are supposedly descendants of Amalgamous Prime.
Because their super-transformational powers extend to disguising themselves as regular Cybertronians, the Shifters' rare talent makes them highly prized spies and scouts by other Cybertronians.

- During the reveal of the Age of the Primes toyline, Generation 1 Air Raid is stated to be a descendant of Amalgamous Prime.[1]
- However, this statement is odd considering how Amalgamous is typically portrayed as the ancient ancestor of Shifters whereas Air Raid is generally portrayed as an Aerialbot.
