The Shaggie (Apod shaggius) is a non-sapient species which inhabits Neptune's satellite Triton.
Biology[]
Shaggies are mostly featureless, shaped like a 5 ft tall blunt-ended cone covered in shaggy black hair. They have a hidden mouth filled with black fangs and rudimentary organs of sight. They glide over the ground swiftly, despite the apparent absence of feet or other obvious means of locomotion. However, they're not capable of changing direction quickly.
Shaggies have no circulatory system and no recognizable internal organs. Instead, their entire bodies are filled with a grey-colored fluid with antifreeze properties. A laboratory analysis reveals that the fluid consists basically of perchlorethylene, but also contains corpuscles and other components. Oddly, the Shaggie's skin is paper thin and confers no protection against perforation, meaning that a single blow with a sharpened knife can kill it by emptying it of all fluid.
