The Sentient Class-I Independent Operation Units were a race of giant biomechanical sentient machines.
Biology[]
The Sentient Class-I Independent Operation Units were composed of two sexes, male and female. Males would merge with the female, sharing its essence with his partner. Young units were born within the female for a time, and spent a time under the crust of planets, and incubated, they are born upon emerging from the surface and separating from their mother.
All Units are connected to one another, as they share a collective knowledge referred to as a Great River.
These Units are able to take a lot of damage, even surviving being decapitated and can still function if the rest of their body is destroyed.
History[]
The Sentient Class-I Independent Operation Units once roamed the universe in pods, however many were killed during a random meteor storm, the survivors were conscripted into the Armor Hunters, who's leader, Control, saved some. They later began serving as mobile bases for the Armor Hunter squads.
Due to the Armor Hunter's fanaticism, the species wiped itself further into extinction. Only one is known to have survived.
During Aric’s sojourn on Gorin, he encountered a Unit being enslaved to the Processors. It was layered revealed that the species is not quite extinct and a pod of them still exists following their migration pattern.
A family of the Units were murdered by a ruthless pair of mercenaries called the Processors. They butchered one of the bodies to use as a makeshift space vessel to reach Earth in order to get revenge on Aric for killing their clan members.
After Aric driven them off, what followed were a trio of warrior orient Units. They briefly exchanged blows with X-O Manowar until Aric managed to communicate with them and learned that they were seeking a missing family of Units. Aric suspected that the Units knew the fates of their kin, and were actually seeking vengeance for their murders. Regardless the hero passed the information on the direction where the Processors fled, warning them to be careful as they were dangerous.
