The Sea Demons are giant aquatic humanoids native to the Crystal Sea on planet Eternia. The mightiest and most powerful member of this species is a creature named Bakkull; who can only be summoned from its aquatic slumber every 20 years, when the stars align in a particular conformation.
This hostile monster can only be controlled by someone who holds the crimson pearl, and will otherwise attack indiscriminately. To become its master, however, the holder of the crimson pearl must also offer a living sacrifice to the Sea Demon.

- There are many lovecraftian aspects to Bakkull's nature, such as requiring the alignment of certain stars to be summoned, demanding sacrificial victims, and an overall similarity to Dagon.
