Sand Rippers are predatory shark-like creatures native to the deserts of the planet Khoros and one of the natural predators of Tetramands.
Biology[]
Anatomy[]
Sand Rippers are bulky olive-green creatures with a distinctive row of spines reaching from their heads to the bases of their necks. There is a single large spike on the tops of the heads and an even larger one on their backs, somewhat like a dorsal fin. They have wide gills along the bottoms of their necks, as well as narrow red eyes and prominent teeth that are visible even when their mouths are closed.
Powers and abilities[]
Sand Rippers dwell in the sands of Khoros and respond to the stampeding of fast-moving prey. They have protective tissues in their eyes to "see" through the sand, and jaws that are strong enough to bite through even the toughest of metals.
Weaknesses[]
Sand rippers cannot swim through rocky land.
Notes[]
- Sand Rippers resemble various water-based creatures on Earth such as sharks and mosasauruses. However, their hunting style better resembles crocodilians.
