SCP-2845 is the SCP Foundation's designation for a powerful extraterrestrial cervine creature that came to Earth after traveling through space on Comet Lovejoy. It arrived on Earth on December 21, 2011 and went on a violent rampage across the west coast of the United States. Two months after its arrival to Earth, the combined forces of the SCP Foundation, Global Occult Coalition, and United States Armed Forces were finally able to contain the creature by performing a ritual which the creature was fooled into believing it works.
With the addition of being extraterrestrial, SCP-2845 can also be described as an old god.
Description[]
Anatomy[]
SCP-2845 is a large 2.9 meter tall, 815 kilogram deer with green hair and a humanoid face. It has antlers that measure 4.8 meters across. Suspended 15 centimeters behind its head is a ring made of ice particles and metallic spheres. The ring measures 1.7 meters in diameter and 35 centimeters in thickness, and the seven spheres are made of metallic hydrogen and metallic helium. The ring rotates clockwise at a rate of 1.6 rotations per minute. SCP-2845 itself has been found to be resistant to physical damage inflicted to it by the Foundation and U.S. military.
Abilities[]
SCP-2845 has the ability to instantly transmute and reconstruct matter within its eyesight at its own will. The transmuted matter will remain chemically consistent. In combat, SCP-2845 transmutes large columns that can measure up to 80 meters in length. Humans transmuted by SCP-2845 are turned into yellow-green hexagonal columns measuring 2.4 meters in height referred to as SCP-2845-1. The brain is the only intact internal organ and is in a constant state of high activity. It is believed that SCP-2845-1 specimens have the ability to communicate with each other.
The Deer is fully capable of escaping its containment, but believes that the rituals that the SCP Foundation is performing as apart of its containment procedures is overpowering it.
Behavior[]
Upon its first contact with humans, SCP-2845 was observed to have been hostile towards humans, forcing the SCP Foundation and U.S. military to bombard it with artillery. While in combat, it will focus on retaliating against its attackers and will generally ignore those not attacking it, but it doesn't make an effort to spare anyone or anything unfortunate enough to be within its range of transmutation. SCP-2845 was also observed to make pre-emptive attacks on both military and civilian targets, indicating a level of sapience.
In addition, SCP-2845 was fooled into believing that it has been overpowered by the SCP Foundation, which have been performing a series of rituals which reach an arbitrary set of criteria that the Deer follows. And so long as the Foundation continues to perform the ritual without fault, no matter how arbitrary and inhumane it may seem, the Deer will continue to believe that it has been hopelessly contained; in reality, SCP-2845 is fully capable of breaking containment should it ever realize that the ritual has no real power over it.
