The Reyans are an extinct race of clockmakers in Endless Space.
History[]
The Reyans are a long extinct race that died out from their own self-destruction. Decades of uncontrolled industrialization caused irreversible damage to their planet's ecosystem and atmosphere. Upon realizing that they were doomed, the Reyans attempted to build spacecraft to escape their planet, but were unable to build a viable ship or penetrate the heavily toxic atmosphere.
Though doomed, the Reyans decided to leave a legacy in the form of one of their greatest technological achievements, clockwork beings. The Automatons came into being, becoming the successors of their creators. A year after the Reyans completed their work, the entire species committed mass suicide.
Culture[]
The Reyans were a proud culture of mechanical tinkerers. They possessed a very old and proud history of clockwork, achieving the maximum potential of the technology in their creation of massive clockwork men to which they gifted all the traits of a young species.
