Replicators are a mechanical creations that spread over the galaxy.
History[]
The Replicators were initially created as toys by an android Reese. The people of that planet were afraid of Reese, and so she taught the Replicators to protect her and make more of themselves. But they soon developed minds of their own and she no longer controlled them. The Replicators killed everyone on the planet and left to seek more resources. Reese feeling bad about what happened, shut herself off.
The Replicators ended up in Ida Galaxy, and encountered the Asgard. The superior technology draw the Replicators, and have been at war with the Asgard for while. The Asgard asked Humans for help, to save their homeworld, Othala. The Humans used a prototype ship to lure away the Replicators, which lead to a small incursion on Earth.
After the SG-1 discovered Reese, and learned of the Replicator past, the Asgard attempted to use her to find some weaknesses for Replicators. Not finding any, they used the android to lure the Replicators into a trap. The time trap failed, and replicators used the time-dilation to evolve, using what they learned from Reese's body they remade themselves into humanoids. Again with the help of SG-1 the plan was to reengage the trap, which they did by exploiting one emotional humanoid Replicator. To use the earned time, the Asgard devised a plan to create a black hole and destroy the planet and Replicators. The Replicators however used the time-dilation device and escaped the pull of the black hole. The Replicators then attacked Orilla, the new homeplanet of the Asgard, and managed to reach it and started to infest it.
With the help of Ancient repository of knowledge, Jack O'Neill managed to create an energy weapon to disrupt the Replicator bonds.
Some time later, a Replicator version of Samantha Carter asked for help from the Humans, which was a ruse to find a way to make themselves immune to the energy weapon. They then started to take over Milky Way Galaxy and learned of the Dakara super weapon. There was a race of time to control the weapon. The Humans eventually managed to use the Dakara weapon and Stargate system to send out galaxy wide Replicator disruption signal, ending the Replicator race.
A small recursion took place, when Humans tried to remake and control the Replicators, but the experiment went bad. Those replicators were managed to be destroyed as well.
