The Ranging Bloyster is a much larger relative to the Toady Bloyster discovered briefly by Captain Olimar on PNF-404.

The giant specimen of Bloyster, evolving from a similar ancestor to the Toady Bloysters, holds many similarities to its smaller relative in appearance (namely to the last versions of the toady bloyster). Aside from its size, its tongue have a notably longer range, hence its name, and its eyes are on longer stalks.
Explorers had noted that this creature has a unique fascination towards shining objects, and along with small animals also attempts to ingest these objects. The reasoning behind this behavior is unclear.
Another detail is that its eyes and tail emit a specialized color glow when focusing on such shiny objects. Its coloration varies from either red to blue.
