Notes[]
- Marvel's The Transformers Universe referred to these humanoid Quintessons as "Gatekeepers". This suggests the design was originally created for a deleted scene from The Transformers: The Movie, in which a bipedal Quintesson standing watch at the gate to their citadel sent the Dinobots (who were searching for Hot Rod and Kup) off in the wrong direction.
- With the deletion of this scene, the design was instead used for the bipedal Quintesson attending Arblus' trial. Due to their role consisting of throwing the switch that would send the Lithone plummeting into the Sharkticon pit, Quintessons of this design were given the fan-made designation of "Executioner".
- The "Executioner" term would later find its way into official use across various media, a prime example being the Transformers: EarthSpark cartoon.
- In-Saba Nur, a Quintesson Executioner featured in Fun Publication's Transformers: The Wreckers series, is named after En Sabah Nur, the real name of Apocalypse from Marvel Comics.
