Queegs are a sapient, non-spacefaring species which inhabit the abandoned cities of another, presumably extinct civilization on an unnamed planet.
Biology[]
Queegs are four-legged creatures with no ankles, whose legs terminate in soft padded discs. They have a dozen arms which are long and thin, and somewhat resemble spider legs. The torso is slightly ovoid, and the head is disproportionally small, consisting mostly of a flabby mouth with hanging lips and four mobile eyestalks, each about 7 or 8 inches long (~ 17 to 20 cm). Nostrils are also present, while external ears are not. They are agile creatures and capable of leaping great heights.
Culture and society[]
Queegs are a friendly but simple-minded species and are unaware of the identity of those who built the ruins that they inhabit. In fact, they believe the city has never been built and has always existed, just like the rocks and the trees. Their culture includes cooking and metal-working. However, they hunt Ohbs with wooden spears, since the Ohbs are metal-eaters and could easily damage metallic tools. They wear no clothes.
