Puyo are a species of putty-like amorphs, whom alter their shape to move. Three subspecies are known to exist, each a different hue - yellow, red, or green; there is also a species that appears very similar that are white, but a study was not conducted upon them before Zebes' destruction, and so their true identity may now never be known. The only Puyo removed to the Biologic Space Laboratory Research Station were of the red subspecies, and these were quickly infected, killed and mimicked by the X Parasites. Puyo-X have hardened certain portions of their body to produce spikes.
