The Puudly is a non-sapient alien species discovered in the Cygnus IV system circa 2011.

Biology

The Puudly is a man-sized insectoid creature which inhales methane gas through the pores on its skin. It's been claimed that its fluids are in perpetual stasis, and that it would suffer structural fatigue and be unable to retain its physical shape in the Earth's atmosphere.

Notes

• In the original short story by Clifford D. Simak, the Puudly is a deadly telepathic predator which reproduces asexually. In the episode, the Puudly was reimagined as the Megasoid, and the original name was given to this unrelated insectoid.
