Prototaxites stellaviatori is a species of fungus-like life forms which can grow in and out of subspace. Their mycelial network permeates the entire cosmos, forming an interconnected web which the symbiotic Tardigrades can use to navigate throughout the universe.
Like most fungoid life forms, it produces spores. Prototaxites's genetic structure is coded in DNA, which the Tardigrade can incorporate into its own genome via horizontal transfer.
