The Prikki are a homicidal race of gecko-like bipedal lizards native to the time looped planet of Gish.

The Prikki are a short race of reptilians that resemble terrestrial geckos. They have large bulging eyes that can be rotated 360 degrees and short almost useless limbs. Prikki are highly adapted to hot climates and environments such as deserts.
History[]
A Prikki
Centuries ago the Prikki were the dominant race in the Milky Way and were the most bloodthirsty xenophobic race ever to reach sapience.
For most of their existence, the Prikki have been preyed upon by the many predators that inhabit the Gish. When they reached sapience, they began to use tools as a means of self-defence. Being herbivores, the Prikki did not hunt and used weapons mainly to exterminate any species in their world that posed a threat to them. There were many such species on the planet. They seem to have retained this way of thinking when they went into space.
The Prikki emerged from Gish and reached interstellar travel around 1860 Earth time. During this time they evolved rapidly, until they made first contact with the Kingdom of Patagoa, which up to that point had been slowly evolving for a thousand years using "slower than light" technology. Travelling slower than light was made possible by the long life of the Patagoans and the use of preservation technology. The Patagoans were the exact opposite of the Prikki in almost every way imaginable. The Prikki were small, while the Patagoans were enormous, reaching a length of about 3 metres and weighing over 600 kilograms at full height. In appearance, the crab also closely resembled one of the many predators that still existed on the Gish due to its ability to hide in the depths of the ocean. The Prikki unleashed a genocidal war against the Patagoans, but the haphazard method in which they conducted it allowed the outer colonies of the Patagoans to capture several of their ships and transmit their findings to their planet before they were overrun and destroyed. About 150 years later, the Patagoans developed their own hyperdrives, but were still at a disadvantage compared to the Prikkis.
Soon after the Patagoans developed speeds faster than light speed, the Prikki began making contact with other races. They immediately went to war with them. Unfortunately for them, one of these empires was a race now called the Holy Guardians. This race outnumbered the Prikki empire The Guardians defeated the Prikki empire quickly and efficiently and apparently they were the ones who imprisoned them in a shielded world trapped in a time loop. The exact reason for this is not known. Perhaps the hope was that, in time, the Prikki would evolve and become less genocidal.
Society[]
Society under the Prikkiki-Ti is often fast pace and this greatly accelerated due the Time Loop on their planet. A Prikki life can last for second or two and then bones turn to dust on the third second. A day on Gish would equal to a millennia for the Prikki civilization. Every week the planet and the prikki nations reset who then are forced to progress through their civilization again. Each reset to finish was a little different but most of the time the Prikki become violent, evil and xenophobic towards the end of their civilization. This shielding effect was intentional as who ever put the shield over the planet engineered it to only come down when the Prikki form a socially acceptable way of life. If the shield is lowered by external means, more than likely the Prikkiki-Ti will be xenophobic.
