Predacons are a subspecies of savage animalistic Cybertronians from the planet Cybertron.
Biology[]
While also being a subgroup of Decepticons, Predacons consider themselves a species unto themselves.
Anatomy[]
Predacons share a similar biology to other Cybertronians, except they transform into savage robotic animals.
Powers and abilities[]
Predacons share many of the same abilities as other Cybertronians.
Select Predacons can combine to form a combiner known as Predaking.
Weaknesses[]
Unlike other Cybertronians, Predacons possess lower intelligence and high psychological problems as a side-effect of their creation.
Culture and society[]
Compared to the Terrorcons, Predacons have a better sense of loyalty. Though they are often found working for the Decepticons, they are actually commanded by the Quintessons.
These Predacons are often considered the primary ancestors of the Predacon faction.
History[]
The Predacons are generally creations of the Quintessons, sometimes through cooperation with the Decepticons. Regardless, they would not achieve the same intelligence as other Cybertronians due to being created without the aid of Vector Sigma.

Notes[]
- These Predacons appear to be based on the Anibots, a group of five Autobots who appeared in an early version of the script for The Transformers: The Movie. These Anibots had the same animal modes as the Predacons (with the minor difference of a leopard instead of a tiger), and would also have combined into a larger robot, albeit a robot dragon.
- Based on early internal model sheets that were offered on eBay in 2016, it would appear that they had their faction changed first, briefly going by the interim name "Anicons", before being given their final name.
- According to the 1986 vendor catalog, the gold plastic swords were originally intended to be gold chromed.
- In Japanese media, the Sharkticon Gnaw is labeled as a Predcon. Amusingly, their Japanese name Animatron would be repurposed as one of several names for the Jungle Planet.
- Unlike the situation with the Dinobot Swoop being a "dinosaur", there tends to be little fandom discussion that Headstrong and Tantrum do not have predatory animals as alternate modes.
