The Plekne (singular: Pleknan) are a sapient, non-spacefaring species of amphibious creatures which inhabit an oceanic planet known as the Hydrosphere. They're biologically related to the semi-sapient Nacac.
Biology[]
Plekne are four-limbed tail-less creatures and stand between 5 and 6 feet in height (~ 1.5 to 1.8 meters). They look like bipedal amphibians with green mottled skin and webbed hands and feet. While their heads are almost spherical, their faces are flat, with sunken eyes, an angular snout, a circular gaping mouth and no external ears. Their diet is omnivorous, including fish and kelp sprouts. They communicate vocally, and their voices have been likened to "the garrulous chattering of wild parrots".
Culture and society[]
Plekne build floating cities of woody kelp-like vegetation. Since their world is entirely covered by a single unfathomably deep ocean, Plekne regard materials such as rocks and stones as curiosities to be found only occasionally inside the guts of gigantic sea animals. Plekne wear no clothes.
