Pisceans are an almost mythical xeno species that colonized Necromunda in its distant past. While seemingly driven off by Human colonists and environmental factors, they appear to still have a presence in the form of House Delaque, one of the clan houses in the city of Hive Primus.
Biology[]
Pisceans are an aquatic, possibly amphibious species, with shark-like heads and superhuman strength. However, most details on their appearance and other aspects of their biology is unknown, although they appear to have been notably larger than Humans, as Piscean brains are roughly the size of a Human chest, and colored blue.
Culture and society[]
Little is known of Piscean society, but they were described as cunning and violent, an aggressive warrior species that did not want to share settled planets with other races. Regardless, survivors of their Necromunda colony appear to have eventually settled into the protection of, or possibly control of, a Necromundan clan house.
History[]
At some point prior to the 26th millennium, Pisceans colonized Necromunda, then known as Araneus. At this point, Necromunda still had vast oceans, and the belligerent Pisceans violently resisted incoming Human colonization efforts. However, despite the fierce Piscean resistance, Humanity still established a hold on Necromunda, but before the planet could be overtaken by the conflict and industrialization that would define its future, the Pisceans seemingly vanished as the planet's oceans dwindled. However, while presumed to have been either exterminated or driven off-world, at least some Pisceans seemed to have taken refuge in subterranean oceans closer to the planet's core, where they remained as the surface was overtaken by massive hive cities and wastelands of ashes and industrial sludge.
By the 41st millennium, Necromunda was a major manufacturing world of the Imperium of Man, a world filled with crime, corruption, and the over-mechanized bleakness that dominated the grim darkness of the far future. In these times, Pisceans were thought to be either extinct or a myth. However, House Delaque circulated the legends of the Pisceans, and had custody of the last remaining Pisceans. Indeed, House Delaque was said to have built a silent partnership with the mysterious aquatic aliens, for fierce Piscean warriors would go to die in the depths of House Delaque enclaves, where House Delaque would have the brains of the aliens inserted into robotic bodies known as Piscean Spektors, allowing them to live on after death as psychically-powered cybernetic hunters of House Delaque.
