The Perses are a sapient, spacefaring species of bug-eyed creatures from the Perseus arm of the galaxy.

Biology[]

Perses are asexual creatures which reproduce by budding. Consequently, there is very little genetic variation in their species. They are spindly three-armed bipeds with mucous skin, tridactyl hands, flat noses and tubular tongues. Their large eyes bulge outwards to adjust their focus of vision. Located above their eyes is an organ known as a color patch, which changes color and produces flashes of light to communicate. While Perses communicate exclusively by color flashes among themselves, they can still learn how to speak Human languages using their mouths and throats. However, they consider this form of speech to be both difficult and repulsive. Their hearing organs are located in their mid-regions. They also have an extendable tendril on the top of their heads which detects temperature variations.
