The pel are a crystalline species native to the asteroid Catopsa in the Stardoc Universe.
Biology[]
The pel are a quasi-quartz species that can turn their form into solid to liquid. The Lok-Teel share a symbiotic connection with the pel, cleaning the crystals of impurities and killing the deadly tul. They are telepathic, and can impress on the thoughts of other species when they choose.
History[]
Dr. Cherijo Torin discovered that the crystal substance that made most of the surface of Catopsa was sentient similar to a telepathic crystal possessed by the Jorenians. Once communication was established, the pel learned that the beings that were inhabiting their home were intelligent as they were. They were shocked to learn that the Hsktskt were oppressing other sentient races, and saw it no different from their relationship with the tul. They vowed to assist the slaves when the time came. When a combined fleet composed of League, Aksellan, and Jorenians attacked Catopsa, Cherijo then called the pel's aid to force the Hsktskt to surrender, appearing out of the walls surrounding the slavers.
Later after all the slaves were evacuated, the pel consumed the entire planetoid destroying the slave complex making sure that it could never be used again.
