The Organians are a physically powerful extraterrestrial species native to the M-class planet Organia, in the border between Klingon and Federation territory. Once a humanoid species, the Organians have long evolved beyond the need of physical bodies and adopted a strictly pacifist, but also very isolationist philosophy. They are best known for imposing the Organian Treaty, in which they finally came to interfere into other species' affairs by forcing peace between the United Federation of Planets and the Klingon Empire, as these two powers had brought their war right to Organia, while unaware of the true nature of its native inhabitants.
The true appearance of this species is yet to be revealed, and it is possible that their "true form" is in fact invisible, as they seem to be based on pure energy. They are able to assume a humanoid form to interact with less advanced species, and appear to go through an intermediate state of bright violet light when passing from the humanoid form to their true, presumably invisible form.
Organians also have truly amazing natural abilities, such as being able to paralyze an entire fleet of starship with their combined thoughts; being aware of events happening several light years away and even manifesting themselves on at least three different planets (these being Organia, Earth and Qo'noS) at the same time. They are also able to occupy the bodies of material species, as well as to control them and alter their memories so that they will not notice what happened. Finally, it is implied that the Organians were responsible for Captain Kirk and Mr. Spock being able to successfully sneak into the Klingon citadel without being noticed, despite the odds of them successfully doing that being about 7,824 to one, as calculated by Spock.
Organians have a deep disdain for physical pain of all sorts, and will occasionally abandon their otherwise strict non-interference policies in order to avoid violence among other creatures. The Organian society is peaceful and is governed by the Council of Elders. It also appears that they are either immortal or have an extremely long lifespan, as it has been stated that no Organian has died in the last thousands of years (as of the 23rd century).
