The Oni are a sapient humanoid species from the planet Oniboshi.
Biology[]
Some Oni are significantly larger than others.
Members of this species are humanoids with fangs, pointed ears and small horns. Their hair color is often green, and becomes white in old age. They can usually fly, despite having no visible means of doing so. Other abilities such as electrocution, fire-breathing, shapeshifting, etc., seem to vary on an individual basis.
Oni powers originate from their horns: losing their horns causes them to lose their abilities (including the capacity to fly), and stay powerless until the horns grow back. The horns fall naturally when the Oni reaches adulthood, making them vulnerable for some time until a new pair of horns grow to replace the old ones.
Oni become inebriated if they consume umeboshi (i.e. dried Chinese plums).
Culture and society[]
The Oni are a spacefaring civilization with access to highly advanced technology. Their clothing is typically orange with black stripes. Like many other species, Oni culture includes marriage.
