The Omera were an alien species from beyond the rim world of the galaxy.
Biology[]
Omera were smooth skinned humanoid with pale skin.
Some of their race are sensitive to the ripples in time, making the psychically inclined like the Tarn. But whereas the Tarns regard people like that as holy, the Omera see them as outcasts.
History[]
The Omera’s home world was destroyed during the Zargon Wars, forcing them roam the galaxy, looking for suitable planets to conquer and call their own.
The Omera were responsible for sacking the planet Niven III. One of the survivors, an Ulred named Vachel heard that the Omera’s next target was the planet Altor. Wishing to prevent it from befalling his won world, he followed a list of names. His investigation however caused him to be suspected as a killer after the people on his list were killed. Chased by the police, Vachel managed to convince Lt. Brogan he was no enemy and that the Omera were the culprits. Together they tracked that the commonality of all the deaths were related to the canine pets of the victims that came from Demeter Dogs. There they discovered an operation in which the Omera planned to use dogs as a means to attack their owners by remote and cause enough chaos to leave the planet weakened to allow for an invasion.
After their agents on Altor were rounded up, their forces were wiped out in the 21st century by a battalion of the League of Planets in the Epsilon Eridani system.
That would not be the last of the Omera. A few survivors plotted revenge against Altor. A few of Omera were incarcerated on a nearby asteroid prison, these few individuals being able to sense ripples in the timestream.
A chance came when a vengeful time traveler known as Ross aka The Cyborg was about to fade from existence, having been foiled from his revenge against Lt. Brogan. The Omera pulled him from oblivion and offered the time traveler a means to obtain his revenge against Brogan. The manipulated him to attack Earth at the time when the U.S. President was about to announce the discovery of alien life, which would have catapulted humanity into the interstellar age and become part of the galactic community. Alas the Cyborg assassinated the leader sowing confusion, with the entire incident being swept under the rug, and existence of alien life being omitted from history and Earth remained isolated and in the dark.
A terrorist attack was staged in LA where then Sgt Brogan was station. The Cyborg killed Brogan’s partner causing him immense guilt that slowly destroyed him and made him a shell of himself.
With Brogan and humanity out of the picture, the Omera had created a new timeline where Altor was bereft of the police keeping force of humanity. Their invasion force easily overran the authorities, occupying the planet. A few inhabitants though managed to escape into the Barrens of Altor, but the Omera claimed Demeter City and used their technology to shackle the minds of the survivors.
The Omera planned to use Altor as a staging area for further campaigns. The people who escaped enslavement of the Omera became the Resistance, led by former Demeter Policr Captain Rex Podly. Through meditating Tarn using a Thoughtstone, the Resistance became aware of the alteration in history. To save their world and restore their loved ones, they decided to recruit the same humans who had foiled the Omera in the original timeline.
Culture[]
An aggressive species that developed into expansive space-faring civilization, the Omera were a nomadic culture of thieves and killers who raided dozens of planets.
